I sit there in my cage. In this dark room, The ring master calling the people, To come and see. The curtain drops, The eyes stare, There I stand, Beaten, Broken, Empty. The chains of my past holding me still. “Come see the Demon Woman!” The master calls, He turns and looks, His face shrouded by his hat. I break the chain, I see his face. The face of my love. The man who broke me, Was the one… I hoped to save me. |
